• Councilmember Robin Wonsley introduced two legislative directives: One to study city property use and needs of MPD and unarmed public safety workers (which is a follow-up to a similar directive), and another to provide a comprehensive overview of the city’s procurement process for contracts with community groups and vendors.
• In a 3-1 (with one abstention) vote, the committee approved a resolution expressing support and solidarity with employees of Delta Air Lines unionizing and urging Delta Air Lines to practice neutrality.
  • Vetaw and Koski said they wanted to speak with Delta leadership before voting on the resolution. Vetaw said that corporations have reached out to her asking for more information after she voted to approve similar resolutions in the past. Wonsley said it’s “actually a good thing” if corporations are contacting the council to ask them why they are supporting workers.
