Joint City Council committees on Housing & Real Estate and Finance reconvened from April 9th. The committees discussed but did not vote on sending the Green Social Housing ordinance to City Council for final approval.

With recent federal cuts and the current affordable housing crisis the city is proposing the Green Social Housing Ordinance as an alternative financing structure to provide permanently affordable mixed-income housing.

The 18th Police District Council meeting covered key points, primarily CCPSA's role in hiring the next COPA Chief Administrator, CCPSA and COPA's 2025 goals, and conversation with acting commander Michael Neckermann.

The Plan Commission signed off on changes to a $230 million Near West Side development that will increase its number of affordable housing units to 123, or 30% of 406 total units.

Around 67 migrants are currently sleeping in the 19th Police District station, according to council members.
