The West Side Fire Protection District provides fire suppression and prevention and emergency services to 8,000 residents as well as tourists and seasonal workers in the 25 square mile area in rural Hood River County. District firefighters also assist the Oregon Department of Forestry and the United States Forest Service with fire protection. The five person board is elected by district voters and oversees the district’s operations and budget.
West Side Fire is governed by a Board of Directors, elected at-large by registered voters within the district. Board members serve a four year term in office.
