The meeting started at 6:10pm. Police District Council Chairwoman Kiisha Smith makes opening comments. At this time, no one has signed up for public comment. The minutes for May 9th, 2025 have been approved.

Elianne Bahena, Nominating Committee, is providing updates. In 2026, there will be vacancies for a few commissioners. The next nominating meeting is July 19th 2025. Read more in the summary report.

Rosemarie Dominguez, Community Engagement and Bahena are discussing the possibilities for target outreach. The timeline for outreach is to begin around September/October of this year.

Dominguez shares a few updates. She mentioned a meeting that she attended. She also mentions a survey of what community members would like to see.

Dominguez mentions opportunities around the district to introduce herself. She is brainstorming ideas on where people meet around the district. She is currently providing a few crime stats.

“The young man who is in the hospital, the family has a gofundme,” Smith said. Smith goes onto say that the mother of Marjay Dotson [says that] she wants the community to show up in court to ensure that the lifeguard is prosecuted.
