The Commission approved an approximately $147,000 funding increase to a contract for comprehensive treatment plans, including case management and residential services for juveniles in the justice system. Also approved $2.5 million for a treatment center at ACCESS in Dearborn.

Roll call was quick…heard 3 members asked to be excused, Daib and 2 others…& Commissioner Baydoun is on his way.
Invocation from Reverend Dr Theodore Truman from First Baptist Church in Detroit-
33rd pastor, and the churches first African American pastor in churches history.
Meeting chat on Zoom shows some having issues with audio.

Presentation honoring Renaissance High Boys and Girls Basketball Teams both winning the 2024-25 Detroit Public School League Champs-
The Commissioners not there, excused are Killeen, Garza & Palamara, Daub is present.
Photo Ops with the basketball coaches and DPS players of the year-
County Exec Warren Evans spoke about the presentation, and Irma Clark-Coleman is continuing it…calling all players up to the podium. Girls first-then the boys.
Next presentation to recognize the “decades of contributions from the Arab American community in Wayne County”. Making April 2025 Arab American Heritage Month, for their “efforts that make Wayne County vibrant and diverse”.
Not a presentation, a resolution that passed.
Committee reports- including funding between county and Schoolcraft College and Wayne County Community College District & Housing Commission Board Appointments.
Commissioner ? Open questions they are waiting for answers on the Housing Commission- was advised they want to get appointments 1st.
McCormick-? Setting up a Board Without having Structure of the Board….they voted in McCormick Abstained all others yes.
Public Service reports no discussion and all voted yes
Committee on Health & Human Services Report - McCormick ? juvenile detention center status for the training academy.
Was advising training is mandatory.
No further ? Motion carried.
Committee On Audit Reports- audit General explained items 1, & 2 letters from auditors Plante & Moran advising they can’t meet deadlines as they having gotten the needed info from County and Land Bank.
All items carried.
Committee Report on Public Safety-
Commissioner Anderson ? Item 3 answered.
All voted yes.
Committee on Govt Operation report-
No discussion-
All voted yes.
New Business- Item 1 removed.
Item 2 appointing Elizabeth “Betsy” Palazzola to Division Director of Community Development, Dept of Economic Development. Not a new job, they had a director leave. She would be replacement.
All voted yes
Item 3 approval of Grant Services contract.
To use opioid grant to build a $25 million treatment center -
Wayne Health Dept - & ACCESS -Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services- at Michigan & Wyoming.
Commissioner McCormick ? The immediate need to approve.
Wayne Health Director advised hoping to move it before he leaves. Commissioner Knezek spoke on the urgency needed for access. Commissioner Chair Bell advised she made sure she was in on discussions and made sure the Health dept was there.
Council advised no issues from them on the item.
Motion carried all yes.
They added 3 more names to the memorials.
Public Comments-

No emails for public comments.
Chair Alisha Bell said Happy 21st Birthday to Irma Clark Coleman later this month.
