I guess the internet had other plans. We weren’t able to get into the meeting on YouTube or through the @cuyahogaboe website. https://t.co/s9aLbQVh6g

The Board of Elections adopt a formal social media policy inspired by Portage and Hamilton counties. All comments will be disabled. Direct messages and content will be catalogued.

In the Nov 8th General Election 9,201 provisional ballots were given out, of those, only 1,407 were deemed valid.

The court of common pleas race is tight between Brian Mooney and Joan Synenberg (who was endorsed by a whole host of organizations).
An automatic county-wide recount is expected if the difference in ballots is under 1,523.

One of the ballot machines is down, it needs a new motherboard, which won’t be available because of a supply chain issue.

The @cuyahogaboe was only anticipating a partial county election in May, but if a statewide issue hits the ballot there could be a full county election.

These changes are due to census data and ward changes and need to be prioritized due to a Feb. or March deadline. Areas that will be prioritized include Parma, Fairview, and Berea.

The @cuyahogaboe will collaborate with the city counsel on proposals for new precincts and to try and get a final version and then notify the voters.

Public Comment: Charles Drake of Seven Hills Ohio who has been a poll worker for 7 years has noticed senior citizens unusually long lines at some polling locations. In Lyndhurst, he observed people waiting shoulder to shoulder all the way to the crosswalk.

He adds that $15/hr is not a reasonable rate of pay for the long hours Rovers work, they are also not compensated for the use of their cars.

Public Comment: David Delgado of Lakewood says that it’s unacceptable to not give sneeze guards to locations that only have 2 EPBs.
