The Minneapolis Planning Commission approved five items including:
- The 200 Central Avenue Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Plan which will finance the construction of a 359-unit 27-story mixed use residential building with 3,800 square feet of retail space.
- A new, two-story, mixed-use building with six dwelling units and 2,654 square feet of commercial space at 2323 Emerson Ave N in the Jordan neighborhood.
- The conversion of a motel to a single room occupancy housing use with 39 units at 5637 Lyndale Ave S in the Windom neighborhood.
The commission also denied the variances and site plan for a new seven-story building with 135 dwelling units and 3,000 square feet of commercial space at 2725 University Ave SE in the Prospect Park neighborhood. Staff cited the failure to meet the Transit 30 overlay minimum height of 10 stories as the primary reason for recommending denial of the applications.
