PTaylor @ptdocsdetroit 12/52
@DetDocumenters @BridgeDet313 @chalkbeatDET @freep @metrotimes @michigan_public @media_outlier @PlanetDetroit @wdet Mr. Cunningham: Concerned about the empty placards (advertising above the seats). Would like to see more use of resources to recruit for DDOT/city jobs.
PTaylor @ptdocsdetroit 13/52
@DetDocumenters @BridgeDet313 @chalkbeatDET @freep @metrotimes @michigan_public @media_outlier @PlanetDetroit @wdet Steven Hawring: praised the raise drivers have received however his concern is after training, many drivers leave for CDL jobs that pay more. How can this be improved other than the reimbursement requirement?
DDOT: Looking at another department to recoup licensing, training
PTaylor @ptdocsdetroit 15/52
@DetDocumenters @BridgeDet313 @chalkbeatDET @freep @metrotimes @michigan_public @media_outlier @PlanetDetroit @wdet Renard Monczunski -transportation advocate offered praise for the salary increase for drivers and hopes that drivers will receive a further increase in pay. He is also advocating for the Grand River corridor to also participate in the rapid transit study.
PTaylor @ptdocsdetroit 16/52
@DetDocumenters @BridgeDet313 @chalkbeatDET @freep @metrotimes @michigan_public @media_outlier @PlanetDetroit @wdet Rochella Stewart is thankful for the salary increase. She is advocating for a low income fare. Plans to reach out to Illitch or Gilbert to see if donations are available. She is looking toward the February presentation on DDOT Reimagined.
PTaylor @ptdocsdetroit 17/52
@DetDocumenters @BridgeDet313 @chalkbeatDET @freep @metrotimes @michigan_public @media_outlier @PlanetDetroit @wdet Also, Mr. Monczunski was also concerned about the enunciators on the coaches. Wants DDOT to make sure they are working properly on all the buses so passengers can hear upcoming stops.
PTaylor @ptdocsdetroit 18/52
@DetDocumenters @BridgeDet313 @chalkbeatDET @freep @metrotimes @michigan_public @media_outlier @PlanetDetroit @wdet Caller: Concerned about cleanliness, security and safety on the buses.
DDOT: Cleaning regiment- buses are cleaned daily (sweeping and mopping). Once per month, deep cleaning, removing seats and disinfect using heat.
Caller: Suggests deep cleaning should happen
PTaylor @ptdocsdetroit 20/52
@DetDocumenters @BridgeDet313 @chalkbeatDET @freep @metrotimes @michigan_public @media_outlier @PlanetDetroit @wdet The next caller is concerned about the cleanliness of the buses. She rides the Gratiot bus/Route 6. She gets on the bus around 2p.
DDOT: There is dedicated staff (Coach Service Attendant) at each terminal responsible for cleaning the coaches.
Caller: Buses are obviously-
PTaylor @ptdocsdetroit 21/52
@DetDocumenters @BridgeDet313 @chalkbeatDET @freep @metrotimes @michigan_public @media_outlier @PlanetDetroit @wdet filthy. Suggests "undercover" staff to determine who isn't doing their job.
DDOT: Please report unclean coaches
PTaylor @ptdocsdetroit 22/52
@DetDocumenters @BridgeDet313 @chalkbeatDET @freep @metrotimes @michigan_public @media_outlier @PlanetDetroit @wdet Next caller: Service reliability and BRT stops on Jefferson
DDOT: DDOT has a directive to increase service to pre-COVID levels for reliability.
Supervisors will be on routes to pay attention to operators that may be passing passengers. DDOT encourages passengers to report
PTaylor @ptdocsdetroit 23/52
@DetDocumenters @BridgeDet313 @chalkbeatDET @freep @metrotimes @michigan_public @media_outlier @PlanetDetroit @wdet Caller: another reliability concern: Transit app is inaccurate.
PTaylor @ptdocsdetroit 24/52
@DetDocumenters @BridgeDet313 @chalkbeatDET @freep @metrotimes @michigan_public @media_outlier @PlanetDetroit @wdet Thomas Konja (owner of a gas station): The end of the route is in front of his business. Passengers are unruly. Many of the passengers are patients released from St. Johns. Not blaming drivers. Businesses are losing business because of these passengers. Would like layover_
PTaylor @ptdocsdetroit 25/52
@DetDocumenters @BridgeDet313 @chalkbeatDET @freep @metrotimes @michigan_public @media_outlier @PlanetDetroit @wdet layovers reduced or move the end of the route.
DDOT: Chief safety officer and the interim director will make a site visit to assess the situation. Discussion continued offline.
PTaylor @ptdocsdetroit 26/52
@DetDocumenters @BridgeDet313 @chalkbeatDET @freep @metrotimes @michigan_public @media_outlier @PlanetDetroit @wdet William Davis: Detroit retiree's should receive reduced/free fare. Many retiree's took a 22.5% pay cut and loss medical benefits. Is asking officials to consider the plight of retiree's.
DDOT: will take concerns under advisement
PTaylor @ptdocsdetroit 27/52
@DetDocumenters @BridgeDet313 @chalkbeatDET @freep @metrotimes @michigan_public @media_outlier @PlanetDetroit @wdet Stephen Boyle: regular Fenkell and Dexter bus user. Many of the bike racks are in disrepair. Wifi isn't reliable. Reliability is a concern. Trackers are inaccurate.
DDOT: routes are monitored on a regular basis. Problems found are rectified immediately.
PTaylor @ptdocsdetroit 28/52
@DetDocumenters @BridgeDet313 @chalkbeatDET @freep @metrotimes @michigan_public @media_outlier @PlanetDetroit @wdet Justine: longterm rider and transportation advocate
Dexter route is very disappointing. One driver is almost always on time. Wonders why other drivers are not on time. Perhaps the on time driver can be mentors.
Need more bus schedules at the main library.
PTaylor @ptdocsdetroit 29/52
@DetDocumenters @BridgeDet313 @chalkbeatDET @freep @metrotimes @michigan_public @media_outlier @PlanetDetroit @wdet Also concerned about attendance bonuses. Suggests that drivers are paid more period. Attendance is a job requirement.
DDOT: Has a set up a service reliability committee that should target reliability issues with routes as well as monitored operators.
PTaylor @ptdocsdetroit 30/52
@DetDocumenters @BridgeDet313 @chalkbeatDET @freep @metrotimes @michigan_public @media_outlier @PlanetDetroit @wdet Sentence correction: Has set up a service reliability committee that should target reliability issues with routes as well as monitor operators. Sorry!
PTaylor @ptdocsdetroit 31/52
@DetDocumenters @BridgeDet313 @chalkbeatDET @freep @metrotimes @michigan_public @media_outlier @PlanetDetroit @wdet Caller: Supports drivers receiving increase in pay. Discipline should be corrective vs. punitive. As the automobile capital of the world, DDOT should work on regional transportation. Suggests visiting Arizona to look at their paratransit training centers.
PTaylor @ptdocsdetroit 33/52
@DetDocumenters @BridgeDet313 @chalkbeatDET @freep @metrotimes @michigan_public @media_outlier @PlanetDetroit @wdet Syri Simpson: has been riding DDOT buses since the 1950's. Wishes officials would not reimagine DDOT but instead deal with the issues advocates have been vocalizing for the past 20-30 years. DDOT should fire all consultants and instead hire marketers to increase revenue
PTaylor @ptdocsdetroit 35/52
@DetDocumenters @BridgeDet313 @chalkbeatDET @freep @metrotimes @michigan_public @media_outlier @PlanetDetroit @wdet Sheila Dorsey: operator at Shoemaker
Concerned that administration does not reach out to drivers/operators to listen to operators concerns and the issues important to drivers.
DDOT: Will join Ms. Dorsey on her bus next week.
PTaylor @ptdocsdetroit 36/52
@DetDocumenters @BridgeDet313 @chalkbeatDET @freep @metrotimes @michigan_public @media_outlier @PlanetDetroit @wdet Citizens don't have to wait for meetings to reach out to DDOT officials.
PTaylor @ptdocsdetroit 37/52
